Craven Cattle Mart Limousin Sale - 97% clearance achieved

A strong show of 92 cattle at Skipton on 12th May where the top joint call at 3,600gns went to the reserve supreme champion bull from W Richardson & Sons, Laverock Bridge, Kendal. He joined first-time Skipton purchasers Alan Clark and Sarah Johnson of Far Orrest Farm, Windermere, and will be used as a stock bull on their commercial Limousin herd.

Oddacres Dingdong, November 2008 born bull from A.J Mason was the intermediate class winner, with another 3,600gns price tag when joining Michael Harker, of Dean House Farm, Wycoller, Colne.

The consignment from JM & SM Priestley consisted of 31 cattle, predominantly home-bred females from renowned bloodlines. Their top performer was first prize 2009-born bull, Brontemoor Dr Doolittle. at 3,500gns when knocked down to Northumberland buyer Aydon Carse, of E Carse & Son, South Ord Farm, Berwick Upon Tweed.

Northern Limousin Extravaganza – 12th May at Craven Cattle Marts

The commercial champion got the nod over the pedigree champion in the battle for supreme honours at the 2010 Northern Limousin Extravaganza by judge James Wycherley from Cork.

The champion was Derbyshire showman Andrew Dickinson, of Park Gate Farm, Bradbourne, with a Limousin-sired heifer by Waindale UFO. A young heifer from the Tomschoice Limousin herd of James and Sarah Cooper, based at Dacre, Harrogate, secured the pedigree and reserve supreme championship with Tomschoice Emily, a daughter of Sarkley Topknot, Great Yorkshire champion in 2004 and out of Tomschoice Bethan

Commercial youngster champion at Northern Limousin Extravaganza

The commercial champion got the nod over the pedigree champion in the battle for supreme honours at the 2010 Northern Limousin Extravaganza at Skipton Auction Mart. on Wednesday, May 12th 2010. [report]

Several £3,000-plus prices and virtually total clearance - of the 92 cattle forward, 89 were sold - were the highlights of the annual show and sale of pedigree Limousin breeding bulls and females at Skipton Auction Mart on Wednesday 12th May 2010. [report]
