made 3,500gns and led a solid sale of Limousin youngstock at
Carlisle on Wednesday 14th May.

The Royal Ulster Show at Balmoral got off to a flying
start on Wednesday 14th May as Ironstone Bomber, recorded
a perfect set of scores in the Marks & Spencer sponsored individual Interbreed.
LIMOUSINS SET BRECON CENTRE RECORD AVERAGE
A new centre record average was set at the
Society’s sale at Brecon Market on Saturday 10th May
and there was a real “buzz” ringside as the
6,200gns Lowerffrydd Buzz led the sale.

BAILEA LEADS PERTH AT 4,300GNS
Howhall Bailea, a rising 21 month old bull from Mr A Renton,
Tannage Brae, Duns, Berwickshire made 4,300gns and topped
the Limousin section of the May Multibreed Sale at Perth.

BRAVEHEART LEADS CARLISLE AT 25,000GNS
The prolific Haltcliffe herd of Messrs Ridley, Haltcliffe,
Hesket New Market, provided the outstanding highlight of
a buoyant 25th Annual Society Sale at Carlisle on Saturday
3rd May.

Breeders’ participation in the Society’s Herd Health
Initiative has continued to grow with 128 herds, representing
4573 pedigree Limousin calves, having registered for the financially
incentivised initiative.

Topping the on-farm production sale from the Brockhurst Herd
of WJ & M Mash Ltd on Saturday 15th March 2008 was the rising
four year old bull Brockhurst Vanquish.

A new Limousin breed and centre record for a herd Dispersal
Sale was set at Carlisle on Friday 29th February 2008 when
the combined holding of the Newstart Herd went under the
hammer.
