Breed Improvement Incentive
SOCIETY RETURNS £54,045 TO BREEDERS
Maintaining the ongoing drive for breed improvement, the British Limousin
Cattle Society returned over £54,000 to members, in the form
of pedigree refunds, in the 2007 financial year.
The financially incentivised
scheme allows all members to assess the quality of the stock they have
registered, male or female, up to the age of 450 days. If the member
chooses to de-register the animal before it has attained this age,
a flat rate refund of £20 + VAT is
given.
Within an ever more discerning marketplace, the drive to keep
the standard of stock within the BLCS herdbook as high as possible,
remains a constant focus. Members welcome the basis of the refund initiative
and they - and the breed as a whole - continue to gain reward for rigorous
selection and breed improvement at point of sale.
