November 2006

As you may be aware, following the easing of livestock export restrictions, the Society has had a significant number of enquiries for pedigree Limousin cattle for export to both EU member countries and accession states.

Two loads of pedigree Limousin heifers have recently been delivered to Poland and following the Polagra Expo in that country there is considerable further demand. With this genuine potential in mind, and to meet these opportunities the Society is forming an Export Sales Register in conjunction with livestock export agents & auctioneers.

If you have cattle available, please contact Richard Saunders at the Society, preferably by email to info@limousin.co.uk with details of animals for sale to the guidelines outlined below. This information will be able to be viewed by the Society and livestock agents only and will not be openly publicised on the website.

The information required is:
1. Description of animals e.g. maiden/bulling/in-calf heifers
2. Age of animals
3. Service information and calving date
4. Number of animals available
5. CHeCS health scheme membership, if applicable, (SAC or Herdcare) & health status within
6. Your contact details: name, address incl postcode, telephone, fax, mobile, email, website

PLEASE NOTE: Individual customers and certain countries may have additional health and/or performance requirements

All information will then be forwarded to livestock export agents in order to help them source cattle for export enquiries. In order to keep the information as up to date as possible for potential customers, all animals will be automatically removed after 30 days unless you notify the Society accordingly. You can of course update your information from time to time to keep it relevant.

This really is an excellent opportunity for the Society’s members and one that I hope you will give every consideration to.
