the British Limousin Cattle Society Sale of Limousin
bulls at Carlisle held on Saturday February 13th saw
176 bulls sell to an all-breeds centre record average
of £6,045.

There was a firm trade for bulls and females at the British
Limousin Cattle Society Show & Sale held at Dungannon
Mart on Monday 8th February 2010 which saw bulls sold
to a top of 4,000gns.

The Perth Spring Limousin Show & Sale held Tuesday
- Wednesday 2nd - 3rd February saw two Black Limousin
bulls from Messrs R Adam & Son, Newhouse of Glamis,
Angus top the trade at 12,000gns apiece.

Bros, Main St, Bellaghy, Co Derry topped the all-female
trade at the Society Sale held on 23rd January
at Ballymena Mart.

In a pilot initiative, the British Limousin Cattle Society
is offering its breeders the opportunity to test Society
Sale bulls for the F94L gene which has been dubbed as the ‘Profit’ gene.

End of year figures from the British Limousin Cattle Society
show that official Society sales of pedigree Limousins
reached a new record gross figure of over £6 Million
in 2009.
RECORD LIMOUSIN LADIES AT CARLISLE
The Red Ladies Limousin Derby held at Borderway Mart,
Carlisle on Friday 18th December brought the 2009
British Limousin Sale Season to a spectacular close
with a top price of 38,000gns, eight animals at 8,000gns
or more, and an all-breeds record average of over £4,400
for maiden heifers.

Prices of 25,000gns and 17,000gns led a tremendous sale trade of maiden
and yearling heifers from the noted Sarkley Limousin Herd at Carlisle
on Saturday 21st November.
