Reserve Supreme Champion at the Perth Limousin February Sale went to the Junior Reserve Champion Bull, Culnagechan Condor, from first-time Perth exhibitor Mr D Hume, 44 Maghereagh Rd, Randalstown, Co Antrim, N Ireland. Condor is an embryo calf and son of the 35,000gns Grahams Unbeatable (available on Semenstore) and is out of the Jockey/Pelletstown Ken granddaughter, Carmorn Tara. At 9,500gns he sold to joint purchasers D McBeath & SJ Jessop for their pedigree Springsett Herd based at Manor Neuk Farm, Manor Powis, Stirling together with Messrs Wood & Hunter, Dalchirla Farm, Muthill, Crieff, Perthshire. The Culnagechan herd is now some sixty cows strong having been formed in 2003.

The first prize winning Elrick Candidate from Michael Massie, Mains of Elrick, Auchnagatt, Ellon was knocked down at 6,800gns. By Ryedale Paragon, a son of Ronick Iceman (available on Semenstore), he is out of Elrick Ruby and has a Beef Value of LM+35 and muscle score of +5.50. MR McCallum & Co are the new owners, purchasing this 20 month old bull for their holding at Woodlands, Dingwall, Ross-shire.

First bull in the ring was the six-year-old Dyfri Target, offered by D Orr, Keirsbeath, Crossgates, Fife. This son of Jockey (available on Semenstore) made 4000gns when selling to L&E Fowlie, Guise of Tough, Alford.

Also at 4000gns was Millington Cannon offered by Millington Grange Estates, Millington York. This February 2007 born bull is a son of Woodhouse Prince (available on Semenstore) and is a full brother to Millington Tangerine, the Interbreed Champion at both the Royal Highland and Royal Welsh Shows in 2006. Millington Cannon was bought by Masequoy Farm, Harray, Orkney.

Overall, in a sale dominated by demand from commercial purchasers, eighteen bulls made 5,000gns or over including two over 10,000gns. 84 bulls were sold to an average of £3993, representing a healthy 77% clearance, and gave a total sale gross of £356,938.
