GREAT YORKSHIRE CHAMPION GREENHILL VIPER JOINS SEMENSTORE

New onto Semenstore is the prolific Show-winning bull, Greenhill
Viper,
from Cormack-McDowell Partners who arrives hot on the heels from taking
the Great Yorkshire Show Limousin Championship.
January 2004 born, Greenhill Viper is a son of the French AI sire Nenuphar
and is out of the French cow Nana. Originally bred in Southern Ireland
by John Greene, Co. Donegal, Greenhill
Viper was first purchased in Carlisle
in 2005 for 4,500gns from then owner Archie MacGregor (Allanfauld) by
David Cormack.
In February 2008, Greenhill Viper was
sold for 20,000gns at the Newstart herd dispersal sale being purchased by
GA McDowell. A prolific show bull, Greenhill Viper has amongst his many
honours previously stood Male Champion at both the Great Yorks and the Royal
Show in 2008. He has also won the Individual Interbreed title at Newark
Show for the last three years and this year he has also won the Interbreed
title at his local Leicestershire Show.
David Cormack commented: “The show circuit remains the best way
to showcase stock and we are now promoting the availability of semen
from Viper who is the herd’s stock bull,” he said. Semen
is priced at £30 per straw with no semen royalty fee.
MILBROOK VIC SIRES ALL-IRELAND HEIFER DERBY RESERVE CHAMPION
A tremendous showcase of Limousin cattle from both Northern and Southern
Ireland was presented at the All-Ireland Bull & Heifer Derby held
at Clogher Show on Wednesday 29th July 2009.
The top Northern Ireland heifer and Reserve Overall was Raymond Crawford’s
Erne Cinderella who is sired by Milbrook
Vic, bred by William Smith at
Oldcastle, and now the senior stock bull with Ian Davidson’s Ballyrickard
herd in Larne. Semen is available to purchase online at semenstore.co.uk priced
at £10 per straw plus £30 royalty.
